Right Angle Performance and Waters Edge have collaborated on a terrific little pocket guide for coaches. It’s called, simply, the Dragon Boat Drill Booklet.
It sells for $33, and, judging from the moans and groans from my paddlers, it’s a great tool for enhancing ROM (Range of Movement) and paddling technique.
I bought this guide, and recommend it highly, but must say that the font used to describe the drills is so small that it is very difficult for me to read without a magnifying glass. I think that the reason for this is that the booklet is designed to take with you on the boat (it’s waterproof), and that restricted the size of the booklet and thus the fonts used.
Bottom Line: Although I like the guide, the truth is that it’s been sitting on my desk since I bought it. The print’s too small for my eyes, and impossible for me to read, particularly while on the boat. What can I say – I’m 70
If you don’t have the price handy, you’ll find a good list of dragon boat drills
here, in MS Word format, or here, in our Paddlers Forum, where you are encouraged to add your own drills to the collection.
Your comments solicited, as always,
Ken
